What a weekend !!

What a weekend it was !! So glad to be back in the office this morning with my computer & designs following a Hail Storm on Thursday afternoon, 187mm of rain & no power for just over three days. Couple of smashed windows, trees fallen & ruined plants, very thankful all else is OK.

The ABC Sunshine Coast reported ‘The supercell hail strike on rural town of Yengarie sparks scenes of ‘nuclear winter” with trees stripped of bark & leaves.

On my Desk – Save the Date cards

Pink & grey calendar style Save the Date cards coming together today. These pre-invitations officially announce your wedding date and lets guests know they will be invited to the celebration. They are a courtesy particularly if you’re having a destination wedding, marrying during high travel times like a holiday weekend or summer in a beach town or have a number of guests who will have to travel. It’s best to start spreading the news around six to eight months prior to the ceremony.

We’re having an adults-only wedding. How can we ensure this is clear to our guests?

Address your invitations correctly—to each guest by name and guests should hopefully understand that the invite is meant for only those mentioned. Some couples are also opting for a polite message on the RSVP card that they are respectfully having a child free wedding. If you find that some reply with their children’s names added, give them a call and explain you’re having an adults-only wedding and you hope they can still attend. If there are a lot of kids in your family, you may want to consider hiring or arranging for a babysitter. It’s definitely not required, but it’s a nice gesture. Just be sure to include this information on your wedding website or insert card.

Where can we include information about our wedding website?

It is becoming more common now for couples to generate a website for their upcoming wedding. Your wedding website can be included on your Save the Date cards (if you’re having them) or you can include the web address in the formal invitation with an insert card perhaps ‘Guest Information’ directing them to find more details online.

When should we make the deadline for the RSVPs?

Make your RSVP date two to three weeks before your wedding date to allow enough time for you to get a final head count to the caterer and to finalise your seating chart. If some guests still haven’t responded by your deadline, give them a quick call and ask for their RSVPs.
